Nicknamed the “Kissing Bandit”, Belli grew up in Toronto. He is a Vice-President at his family business, Old Style Foods, a meat distribution firm based in Mississauga. His charity is the Big Kiss Fund, in support of SickKids Foundation, and he has spearheaded several events this off-season including a live Valentine’s Day auction and a large Christmas toy donation. Belli attended Central Tech High School in Toronto and was an active member of their football team. As a senior, he was declared to be one of the top two football players in the city. In 1994, he played in the Metro Bowl but lost to Northern Secondary School.
2008: Started 18 regular season games at NT and DT…Week 2, Started at NT in loss against Hamilton... was ejected in 3rd quarter, and replaced by Jonathan Brown, recording 3 DTs…Week 5, Started at NT in loss at Saskatchewan and recorded season-high 7 DTs…Week 14, Started at DT and made 5 DT in loss vs BC including first QB sack of the season…Performed national anthem pre-game in support of Sick Kids Foundation…Week 15, Started at DT and recorded his second sack of the season in loss at Winnipeg.
2007: Named East Division All-Star at DT…Named CFL Pro Players All-Star at DT…Started all 18 games for Toronto at DT…Week 3, recorded 3 DT and 1 QB sack before leaving the game in the third quarter with an injury in win over Calgary…Week 10, was a force up the middle, recording 5 DT and 1 QB sack…Week 13, recorded a season-high 6 DT in win over Edmonton… Week 17, ejected from game for objectionable conduct in 1st quarter vs. Winnipeg…2007 Playoffs Started at NT in East Final versus Winnipeg.
2006: Started at defensive tackle with both the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes… Traded from Hamilton to Montreal on August 28 in exchange for DL Clinton Wayne and DB Phillip Gauthier…Finished the season with 19 DT and 5 QB sacks…2006 Playoffs Started at DT and recorded 2 DT and 1 QB sack in East Championship versus Toronto…Grey Cup Championship Started at DT and recorded 3 DT and 1 QB sack at Winnipeg vs the BC Lions.
