While some people only dream of becoming artists their entire lives, others follow their dream while also pursuing brilliant careers in other fields. Such is the case of crooner Colin Hunter
Colin is the founder, owner and CEO of the Sunwing Travel Group, comprising Sunwing Airlines and Sunwing Vacations, one of the most important leisure travel organizations in Canada.
However, Colin has always had another passion in his life….his music! A huge fan of the hit songs performed by artists like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole, Colin fulfilled a long-held dream in 2005, with the release of his first CD, appropriately titled “Come Fly With Me” to coincide with the inaugural flights of Sunwing Airlines.
In 2007 Colin returned to the music scene with a second album, “Timeless”, and his third CD with the Starlight Orchestra will be available very soon. His newest CD is called “Mostly About You”, and is a beautiful assortment of love songs with renowned jazz pianist Joe Sealy.
Colin has hit the Canadian stage several times, including Espace Dell’Arte in Montreal, the Théâtre du Palais Municipal in La Baie, in the Saguenay Region of Québec, Le Capitôle Théâtre in Québec City and Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto. His latest concert was a smash hit in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Colin and Joe Sealy are also performing at their CD Launch party at the Hugh’s Room in Toronto on December 18th. He is a favourite on Coleur de Jazz 91.9, JAZZFM.91 in Toronto, and 88.5The Jewel in Toronto.
Recognized for his smooth voice and sophisticated, upbeat performances Colin loves nothing more than getting on stage to entertain his audience. He enjoys establishing a laid-back rapport with his audience while setting a mood that reflects the casual style of his “crooner” music.
